UGANDA SET TO STRENGTHEN ITS COMMERCIAL AND TRADE TIES WITH NIGERIA

H.E Nelson Ocheger held a meeting with the Director Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture(Nacima). The meeting discussed ways on how both countries could strengthen their cooperation and further involve the private sector since it plays a key role in the manufacturing sector.

Mr Usman Abbas Muazu the director Abuja liaison office informed the Ambassador that Nacima was the Umbrella body that brings together the other state chambers of commerce and the purpose of the meeting was to establish further collaboration with their Ugandan counterparts aimed at enhancing trade between the Government and the Private sector in Uganda.

On his part H.E informed the visiting director that the Uganda Government had put regulation in place that is conducive for business to prosper and the Uganda-Nigerian business forum would be held in October 2019. He further informed that he had linked the chambers of commerce of Enugu State and Cross River State with the Uganda Chamber of Commerce and the meeting with the director was timely and would help bring on board other State Chambers of Commerce.

With a population of more than 190 Million and a GDP of 400B USD, Nigeria has a ready market for Ugandan Manufacturers.
